Kirthika Senthil Kumar

Dr. Kirthika Kumar is a accomplished researcher and engineer with seven years of experience in academic settings. Her work has resulted in 3 patent filings, numerous awards & publications, and over 500 citations since 2017. Currently, she is a Research Fellow at The N.1 Institute for Health at the National University of Singapore. 

Dr. Kumar specializes in designing and conducting prospective and retrospective clinical trials to evaluate the feasibility of implementing digital health solutions. Her research covers a broad range of areas, from engineering flexible and stretchable sensors for clinical and surgical tools to developing AI-derived clinical decision support systems for personalized medicine.

In addition to her research, Dr. Kumar has also taken on various roles in translational and implementation settings. She has been actively involved in business development for three different startups, merging partnerships with various stakeholders and raising funding of up to S$100,000 through business pitching sessions. 

Beyond her academic and professional achievements, Dr. Kumar is also passionate about empowering women in engineering. Since 2020, she has been an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Women in Engineering (WiE), advocating and empowering fellow women in the field. In recognition of her contributions, she was listed on the Singapore 100 Women in Tech List 2021. Her work and contributions have been featured in interviews on news channels, radio channels, and several online articles.
