Gaurav Kharod

Gaurav Kharod is a strategic satellite professional with more than two decades of experience in the satellite communications and satellite broadcast markets with extensive expertise in the Asian markets. He has led various teams at Intelsat since 2012.

In his role as the Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific, Gaurav will drive technological innovation in this transformational region, maximizing the product line Intelsat has to offer and establishing Intelsat as the industry leader in the region. His vision is to execute the Media and Networks go-to-market strategies, and lead the regional teams to achieve long-term sustainable and profitable revenue growth.

In Gaurav's last assignment, he was the Managing Sales Director for the South Asia market operating out of Intelsat's India office. In this role, he led the Sales Team, consistently delivering on the organization’s targets in the region for the established Media business. Importantly, Gaurav implemented a successful entry strategy for Intelsat’s high throughput satellite IS-33e in the India market, establishing gateways with a long-standing Intelsat partner, along with creating a new service partnership. This enabled all the different business verticals of Intelsat - Satellite Networks, FlexMaritime managed service, as well as Commercial Aviation services, to be fully represented over the Indian and South Asia markets, as well as creating a roadmap for the growth of these services in the region.

Prior to joining Intelsat, Gaurav held leadership roles at Hughes India and Viasat Inc. in the satellite domain, along with a stint at Conax AS in the media industry. Functionally, he brings a mix of expertise across Sales, Product Management, Business Development, Regulatory and Policy Affairs.

Gaurav holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering as part of his college education in Gujarat, India.
