Chee Seng Tan

Mr Tan currently holds the appointment of Senior Director (Electronics, Security & Satellite) in the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) of the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR). Mr Tan developed his career as a R&D engineer in DSO, MINDEF and A*STAR’s Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), developing his competency in multiple domains areas – Radar, Signal Processing, Image and Video analytics, Microwave and Electro-optical Systems. He held various management appointments in these organisations at Director level and as Deputy Chief Research & Technology Officer (Sensor Systems) in the MINDEF’s Defence Research & Technology Office. Mr Tan was also conferred the title of Distinguish Member of Technical Staff at DSO in November 1999. Mr Tan received his Bachelor of Art (1st Class Hons) degree in Engineering Science from the Oxford University UK in 1980 under the PSC Overseas Merit Scholarship.
