David Chia

David has served on the council of SIAA since 2018, he is presently the Assistant Treasurer to the association.  David is a specialist with more than 20 years in industrial automation and has seen developments since the days of Industry 3.0 to Industry 4.0.  Beyond the regular challenges of productivity, efficiency and effectiveness, industrialists are now peppered with demand on IT/OT integration, big data, cybersecurity, supply chain robustness, and sustainability. 

He believes that engineers must save the world, and that problems are just matters waiting to be solved by human ingenuity and technology.  Just as he believes strongly that we should not do things for the sake of doing them, ESG (and sustainability) should be more than just a compliance exercise or hype.
