Dorothea Koh is the CEO & Co-Founder of Bot MD, a Y Combinator-backed healthcare AI company building AI-powered agents that transform patient engagement and healthcare workflows across Asia Pacific.

Founded in 2018, Bot MD began as an AI clinical assistant supporting doctors at the point of care. Today, the company has evolved into an AI-powered Patient Engagement platform that deploys secure, healthcare-trained AI agents across popular chat apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Viber. These AI agents automate patient FAQs, appointment scheduling, reminders, follow-ups, education, and remote monitoring — helping hospitals improve patient experience while reducing administrative workload and scaling operations without increasing headcount.

Bot MD works with leading hospitals and healthcare systems across Southeast Asia, supporting tens of thousands of healthcare professionals and impacting hundreds of thousands of patient interactions annually. The company was awarded Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list in 2023 and has won a WHO Innovation Impact Award for its work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dorothea graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Economics, and earned her M.S. in Bioengineering from Stanford University. She is an alumna of the Stanford Byers Biodesign Innovation Programand holds 10 published and pending patents.
