Dr Chen Hui Ong is the Assistant Chief Executive of Business and Technology Group at the Infocomm and Media Development Authority (IMDA), where she oversees the agency’s efforts in developing the industry and research ecosystem around emerging technologies. Dr Ong started the Future Communications R&D Programme to support 6G research, Digital Trust Centre to support research into trust technologies, the 5G Innovation Programme to support industries in adopting 5G and launched the A.I. Verify toolkit for governance of AI.

Dr Ong has spent more than 20 years in R&D and technology innovation. She is a member of the OT Cybersecurity Experts Panel of Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore (CSA), the chair of Singapore Women-in-Tech and one of the honorees of Singapore 100 Women in Tech 2021. Dr Ong also serves in the Executive Committee of Association of Infocomm Security Professionals. Prior to IMDA, Dr Ong was the APJ CTO in Trustwave – a Singtel company and Principal Member of Technical Staff in DSO National Laboratories.
