Profile
Shaun serves as the SVP, Chief Information Security Officer for PayPal. In this role, he is responsible for implementing the information security strategy, security engineering, enabling business partners, and securing customer data, digital assets, and payments. Shaun has over 20 years of IT experience with specialization in information security and risk management. Shaun has served in security leadership roles at world-leading financial services institutions and top U.S. government agencies. Most recently, he served as SVP, Chief Information Security Officer at Discover Financial Services, where he was responsible for company-wide cybersecurity risk management efforts, security architecture, securing cloud transition, modern software delivery transformation, and end-user experience enhancement initiatives. Shaun is a graduate of the University of Maryland and has an MBA from the George Washington University School of Business. He serves on the board of the Kohl Children’s Museum, is an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and an independent director at Valimail, the global leader in zero-trust e-mail solutions. Shaun is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and a graduate of the Department of Defense Executive Leadership Development Program.
