Benedict Macon-Cooney is Chief Policy Strategist at the Tony Blair Institute. He is an expert in economic and technology policy, with a special emphasis on AI, Bio Technology and Clean Technology. His work highlights the need to accelerate scientific progress to solve societal challenges.

Benedict has served at the top level of government, having started his career as an economist in Her Majesty’s Treasury. He also worked on an economic and government transformation programme in a Prime Minister’s Office in Southeast Asia, in President Kagame’s Office in Rwanda and in the financial services industry.
