Profile
Dr Shireen Goh is an Associate Professor in the Engineering Product Development (EPD) pillar at SUTD. She is a microfluidic biotech innovator and academic entrepreneur pioneering advanced microfluidic and microbioreactor systems for high-density, long-term cell culture, with transformative applications in biomanufacturing, precision medicine, and space life sciences.
She is the scientific co-founder of Celltomix, a spinout commercializing a novel clog-free perfusion filter for bioprocessing. Backed by SGD 2.2 million in pharmaceutical investment and SGD 1.5 million in pending venture funding, her technology is currently under validation by a multinational biopharma partner.
Previously, Dr Goh co-developed Erbi Biosystems, based on her PhD at MIT—an automated microbioreactor company acquired by Merck Group in 2022. She is also leading the development of space-compatible bioreactors for low-gravity life science experiments in collaboration with NUS and the Yuri GmbH, an European space biotech company.
In her leadership role at SERIC, she helps translate sustainable technologies and deep-tech startups from SUTD into real-world applications in the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, a model for smart, green urban development.
