Rhyan Casiño is a visual artist/ musician, community organizer, a pastor of an Evangelical Church and a social media manager. Rhyan have been advocating the arts as tool in empowering marginalized communities. He is based in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. He is the founder of Dire Husi Initiative, a winner of the “I Am a Changemaker” by the British Council in 2008 and a National awardee of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organization in 2009 and 2012. Dire Husi Initiative is a social enterprise working with street youth and artisans in Cagayan de Oro City.
He have been working closely with the local Arts Council in his Province as well as being a Committee Member of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in 2010 to 2016.
Their arts initiative have championed a street kid to graduate in college in a Jesuit University, the Ateneo de Cagayan School and have made news all over the country, including an episode of the ABS CBN TV show “Maala-ala Mo Kaya”.
Rhyan is now doing social media management with the Dayeg Movement team. During pandemic they have organized an online national film making contest called “SaliDayeg”.
Presently he is training young marginalized kids in his area in music, arts and video editing.
