Ray Tseng, Nokia: Enterprise Connectivity APAC and the Future of Edge Innovation at ATxEnterprise 2025

Interview Highlights

Ray Tseng, Nokia’s Head of Asia Pacific Sales for Enterprise Campus Edge Business, joined the panel Pioneering Connectivity in Asia at Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG) 2025, offering insights into how APAC enterprise connectivity is evolving to meet rising demands across industry.

“Enterprise customers are looking for outcomes — whether it’s better safety, more resilience, or more productivity. Connectivity remains the foundation for achieving those goals,” said Ray Tseng, Nokia.

With more than a decade of experience attending the event, Ray Tseng’s Nokia perspective reflects how enterprise connectivity APAC has matured from basic communications to mission-critical, edge-enabled systems.

Enterprise Connectivity APAC: Foundation for Digital Transformation

Across Asia, digital transformation initiatives increasingly depend on secure, resilient, and scalable connectivity. For Ray Tseng and Nokia, enterprise connectivity is no longer just a network conversation — it’s a strategic enabler for:

  • Operational continuity and resilience

  • Safety in industrial and mission-critical environments

  • Productivity gains through automation

  • Real-time data intelligence at the edge

Ray Tseng, Nokia, explained that APAC enterprise connectivity must support environments where downtime, latency, and security risks directly impact ROI and operational outcomes — particularly in manufacturing, logistics, transport, and public-sector applications.

This is where Nokia edge computing and private wireless networks play a central role, enabling enterprises to move intelligence closer to operations.

A Decade of ATxSG: Evolving With Asia’s Connectivity Landscape

Having attended the event for over 10 years, Ray Tseng, Nokia, reflected on how ATxEnterprise — formerly CommunicAsia — has grown alongside Asia’s digital economy.

“I’ve been coming to this show for 10 years. It has remained relevant and continues to adapt as the industry evolves. That’s what makes it so valuable.”

The evolution mirrors Nokia’s own enterprise journey — from traditional telecom infrastructure to edge-enabled, outcome-driven enterprise connectivity in APAC.

Today, ATxEnterprise brings together CIOs, network leaders, hyperscalers, and infrastructure providers to align on enterprise-ready solutions for a converging technology landscape.

Edge Computing Innovation: 5G, AI, and Automation Convergence

When asked about the next three to five years, Ray Tseng, Nokia, highlighted that no single technology operates in isolation.

“AI is one of the biggest drivers today. But there’s also continuing investment in 5G, robotics, and automation. The key is their convergence.”

This edge computing innovation model — combining 5G connectivity, AI analytics, automation, and edge processing — allows enterprises to:

  • Reduce latency for mission-critical workloads

  • Improve real-time decision-making

  • Enhance security by processing data locally

  • Lower operating costs through automation

For IT decision-makers, Nokia edge computing provides a clear ROI case: faster deployment, predictable performance, and architectures designed for industrial-scale operations across APAC.

A Connected, Outcome-Driven Future for APAC Enterprises

Ray Tseng’s closing reflection captured the spirit of both Nokia’s enterprise strategy and ATxEnterprise’s relevance:

“The show continues to be relevant and adapt to the times — and that’s refreshing.”

As enterprise connectivity APAC matures, the winners will be organisations that align connectivity investments with business outcomes — using edge computing innovation as a platform for resilience, safety, and productivity.
