Richard “Ritchie” Lirio is presently the Chief Operating Officer of Good Samaritan Medical Center, one of the hospitals of the Mount Grace Hospitals Group and concurrently the Cluster Head for the North Cluster of the Mount Grace Hospitals Network. He was also the COO of other hospitals under the network before he joined his current hospital. Previously, he was the General Manager of BIMC Hospital in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, for 2 years, and was also managing other private hospitals such as Medical Center Parañaque and St. Clare’s Medical Center prior to this. He was also with the Metrobank Group, assigned to the Manila Doctors Hospital.

Ritchie is the Corporate Secretary and a Board Member of the Private Hospital Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAPi) and is a Past President of the Philippine Society for Quality in Healthcare (PsQua). He was also active with other professional organizations in the industry, such as the Philippine College of Hospital Administrators, where he served as President, and the Hospital Personnel Management Association, where he was the Vice President.

He is also involved in the academe as a part-time lecturer in the Graduate Schools of St. Joseph College, World Citi College, FEU NRMF, and was a lecturer at the Lyceum Northwestern University, Trinity University of Asia, Emilio Aguinaldo College, and St. Jude College, where he taught policy development, hospital operations, strategic planning, and human resource management. He is an adjunct professor in the UP College of Public Health, the graduate school where he obtained his Masters in Hospital Administration degree. He also participated as a researcher in studies conducted by the Institute of Health Policy and Development Studies of the National Institute of Health and was a member of its core group.
