A distinguished cybersecurity expert and military officer, Jan serves as a cybersecurity consultant for the National Security Council while holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Philippine Army. Her extensive cybersecurity credentials include specialized training at the Asian Institute of Management's Cyber Security Executive Course, Chatham House's Inclusive Cybercrime Policymaking program, and the University of Cincinnati's Center for Cyber Strategy and Policy. As a key member of the Department of Justice's Technical Working Group, she contributed significantly to drafting the Anti-Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and established crucial public-private partnerships focusing on anti-child cyber trafficking initiatives. Her cybersecurity expertise extends to international cooperation, having participated in global alliances against online sexual exploitation and serving on the ASEAN Expert Working Group. She has conducted vital research on cyber threats, including studies on online radicalization, social media impact on national security, and cyber jihadist monitoring capabilities.
