Gin Keat ONG (GK) is a leader of sustainable businesses with experiences in regional projects and business development, design, planning, and implementation with bottom line responsibility. He is an expert in the sustainability/environmental, industrial, marine/oil & gas sectors and a keen advocate of sustainability, social responsibility and speaks on environmental and climate change issues at industry events and seminars.

He has Profit & Loss responsibilities including turning around poorly performing companies, increasing revenues/profit, and developing projects from inquiry stage, planning to commissioning and final acceptance.

In 2004 he set up and operated a 1.5 hectare Certified Organic Aerobic Thermophilic Composting facility with a capacity of 3,000t/month. Additionally, in 2004, he set up a 1 MW biomass Cogeneration Plant, consuming 80 t/day of waste wood and making use of waste steam to create new revenue streams.

In 2007, GK sold Singapore’s first carbon credits, Certified Emissions Reduction, under an Emissions Reduction Purchase Agreement and in 2008 registered Singapore's first CDM project under the UNFCCC.

His business and technical knowledge includes the conversion of industrial solid waste (5,000t - 10,000t/month) to value added resources, conversion of biomass waste into energy, municipal waste management, pneumatic conveyance systems, wind/solar hybrid applications, desalination systems, land reclamation, heat transfer equipment, desalination systems and glass flake coatings.

He is presently Director, Sustainability & Business Development of Envcares Pte Ltd, www.envcares.com.sg a Singapore SME that processes over 200t/day of industrial and commercial side streams in an 8,000m2 facility.

He works with vendors, government bodies and third parties to advance sustainability issues including on the ground solutions for urban and rural environments.

Additionally, he is Waste to Energy consultant to an Australian bioenergy company, Uniflow Power Ltd, commercializing the world smallest biomass based Combined Heat & Power Energy generation www.uniflowpower.com Its tag line: ”Disrupting Poverty”

GK has been adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Environment Institute, the education division of the National Environment Agency since 2009.
