Profile
As President and CEO of NTT DOCOMO Global, he leads the promotion and global expansion of digital life services worldwide.
He is strongly focused on advancing connectivity solutions that form the foundation of digital society, driving the development of open and reliable telecommunications infrastructure through initiatives such as Open RAN.
In addition, he places a strong emphasis on establishing trusted digital foundations centered on authenticity and trust. Through digital platform services such as Universal Wallet Identity (UWI), he is promoting initiatives that support data sovereignty and the responsible use of AI.
Furthermore, through the digital transformation of both physical and online retail, he is developing and advancing marketing solutions that enhance consumer convenience and support the growth of the digital economy.
Through these three pillars—connectivity solutions, digital platform services, and digital life services—he is committed to transforming the global digital society, leveraging AI powers.
Prior to his current role, he played a key role in the transformation of the NTT Group, contributing to the shift from traditional telephony to broadband, the evolution from telecommunications infrastructure to digital data services, and the expansion from a domestic focus to a global one, in his capacities as a corporate strategy and business development executive.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Tokyo in 1985 and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992.
