Ned Shawa is the Vice President of Sales Engineering and Field CTO for Asia Pacific, India & Japan at Kong, where he advises CTOs and CIOs across the region on modernizing their AI and API strategies and patterns to accelerate AI adoption, platform connectivity, and digital transformation at scale. With nearly two decades of experience spanning cloud, data, security, and developer platforms, Ned brings a rare blend of hands-on technical depth and executive-level strategic thinking to every engagement. Prior to Kong, Ned was the founding father for APJ at HashiCorp, Where he led the strategy, execution and build their presence in APJ before the acquisition to IBM in 2025 scaling the APJ team to over 200 poeple, prior to that held senior solutions engineering and technical leadership roles at Verkada, Hortonworks, and Dell EMC, building and scaling presales organisations across APJ while helping enterprises navigate major technology shifts — from big data and multi-cloud to zero trust and AI-driven automation.
