In his role as Head of Group ESG at STT GDC, Sharmel leads the development and implementation of the Group’s ESG strategy across its global data centre portfolio, supporting long‑term growth, operational resilience and value creation. His responsibilities include defining the Group ESG operating model and establishing structured governance, reporting and oversight mechanisms to enable consistent execution across regions and business units.

Sharmel works closely with senior leadership and functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into business strategy, capital allocation, enterprise risk management and customer engagement. Through structured ESG governance and performance reporting, he supports senior leadership and board‑level oversight on ESG‑related governance, risk and long‑term value considerations, helping to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory, investor and customer expectations across STT GDC’s global platform.
