Profile

A staunch believer in the power of innovation to make the world a better place, Guan Dian, co-founder and APAC general manager, Patsnap, built the SaaS business in Asia from the ground up to become a leading player in the region. Now a global leader in AI-powered innovation intelligence with more than 12,000 customers in 50 countries to date, Patsnap’s user-friendly platform revolutionises how IP and R&D teams collaborate across the entire innovation lifecycle — from validating ideas to analysing the competitive landscape and beyond. Instrumental in the fundraising efforts which catapulted Patsnap into the unicorn club of privately-owned companies with a valuation of over US$1 billion, Guan also championed customer-centric initiatives such as the Patsnap’s Academy, a curriculum for innovative IP & R&D professionals, as well as established a thriving Patsnap ecosystem by fostering symbiotic relationships with government agencies, educational institutions and the private sector. She is currently the driving force behind the Singapore-founded tech unicorn’s business expansion in Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, and at the helm of its global marketing and PR. For her inspiring work pursuing technology that serves the greater good, professional achievements and outstanding leadership, Guan made the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list and was named one of China’s Top 25 High Potential Businesswomen by Forbes China in 2016. In 2019, she was one of 10 conferred the NUS (National University of Singapore) Outstanding Young Alumni Award. After attending Stanford University’s Overseas College Techno-Entrepreneurship programme on full scholarship while doing her Bachelor of Computer Science at NUS, Guan had cofounded Patsnap, shortly after graduation, to experience the excitement of running a startup.
