Maxx Wong is a distinguished data center expert with over 16 years of experience leading the design, development, and optimization of digital infrastructure across APAC and Southeast Asia. As Head of Technical & Solutions at YTL Data Centres, he oversees the strategy, planning, and delivery of mission-critical facilities, with more than 200MW of data center capacity under management across the region.
Maxx has successfully delivered large-scale, high-availability data center projects in key Southeast Asian markets, including Malaysia and Singapore. One of his notable projects was recognized as a finalist at the DCD Awards APAC 2019 and highlighted by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority for its pioneering use of prefabricated MEP modules — a benchmark in modular design and efficient deployment. In Year of 2024, one of his landmark projects, ie. YTL Kulai DC park as one of the largest Green DC Park in Malaysia, has been awarded as Best Project in Southeast Asia by W-Media.
He is a Registered Professional Engineer, with additional credentials including Chartered Professional Engineer (Engineers Australia), ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer, APEC Engineer, International Professional Engineer, Professional Technologist (MBOT) and Accredited Tier Designer (Uptime Institute).
Maxx is well-known for his strategic mindset, strong technical foundation, and ability to align infrastructure design with long-term business and investment goals. He is frequently invited to share insights at industry conferences and executive forums, such as Data Centre World Singapore 2024 and ITW Asia 2024, where he bridges the gap between engineering innovation and commercial value creation for stakeholders and investors. His commitment to advancing the field is further demonstrated by his active engagement with industry stakeholders, via technical conference, such as BISCI Conference, IEM Marvex, and his passion for engineering and technology.
